In 2004 the Kranj City Library became one of the ten Slovenian central regional libraries responsible for the development of library services in Gorenjska region, connecting libraries in Jesenice, Radovljica, Škofja Loka and Tržič. In cooperation the Gorenjska web biographical lexicon has been developed, the Kranj City Library provides access to domestic and foreign electronic resources to members of all Gorenjska libraries, provide free interlibrary loans, digitize and publish older regionally important newspapers and newsletters of previously successful factories in Gorenjska region.
